Creativity & Technology

Alongside my studies in Physics, I began participating in theater where I came to realise my need to practice my creativity. So, after graduating in 1995, I was looking for an opportunity where I could combine my technical skills and creative skills. At that moment, two friends invited me to join their start-up and made me enthusiastic about the enormous possibilities of the Internet. Not only did I find that the Internet facilitated me with this desired combination of technology and creativity, I also loved its pioneering fast- changing dynamics.

I deepened my knowledge about the Internet and media by doing courses at the University of Amsterdam, attending 1 year of Interface Design at the Art School of Utrecht and working as a PHD student; combining media and technology at the University of Enschede. Since then I have worked with media and the Internet, at first in different companies, and from 2001 as a freelancer.

I have performed in a variety of tasks: concept, scenario writing, video editing, video directing, user interface design, graphic design, software programming, web application programming and animating. I also have taught at university, high school and in different workshops.

My physics background facilitates the learning of new programming languages, techniques or frameworks to keep up with new developments. I like to experiment and play around in order to create something beautiful.
